Academy mortgage appoints new executives to expand market coverage
Utah-based Academy Mortgage named three new vice presidents to further strengthen the company’s market position, according to a company statement.
Rob Shockley will assume the post of senior vice president of human resources, where his 24 year legal expertise will be leveraged to enhance the firm’s personnel management, as well as facilitate strategic planning and assist in risk management. Shockley joined Academy last year as a member of the product leadership team.
John Norman has been named vice president for risk management. In his new role, he will be responsible for the development and implementation of Academy’s enterprise risk management program, as well as oversee quality assurance and quality control operations. Norman previously served as the firm’s chief compliance officer, in which capacity he supervised Academy’s compliance to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. He joined the company in 2009.
Abby Hawkins, who has been named Academy’s vice president of learning, training and development, is new to the company. Hawkins has extensive training and experience in industrial psychology, design, development and technology.
