Lender strengthens broker support amid rising demand for bridging finance

Bridging finance specialist Bridgit has expanded its distribution team, appointing five new state-based business development managers (BDMs) to support its growing broker network.
Jayne Eastick has been appointed as BDM for Western Australia and will be based in Perth. Jack Smallwood will take on the role in Queensland, working from Brisbane. In Victoria, William Mulvey has been named business development manager and will be based in Melbourne. South Australia sees two new appointments, with Scott Byrt and Isabella Despot both joining as BDMs in Adelaide.
The additions bring Bridgit’s distribution team to a larger national presence, complementing existing members, including Nik Thurgood, Lili Barron, Matt Pride, Jolene Farrow, Jeff Hilton, Michael Balshaw, and Nikki Pellizoni, alongside the lender’s national broker support team.
The appointments follow significant business growth for the non-bank lender and increasing demand for tailored bridging loan products. The non-bank lender reported a 145% increase in its accredited broker network in 2024.
“We are thrilled to start the new year by welcoming five exceptional BDMs — Jayne, William, Scott, Isabella, and Jack — to the Bridgit team,” said Stephen Doyle (pictured above), head of distribution at Bridgit. “All five bring invaluable local insights to their respective markets and will play a key role in driving awareness of bridging finance and empowering brokers to support more Australians in securing their dream properties.
“With Scott and Isabella as our first team members on the ground in South Australia, we can now provide the best possible service for our South Australian network while continuing to strengthen our nationwide presence.”
Doyle said that rising demand for bridging finance reflects broader trends in the property market.
“As the property market faces ongoing challenges such as constrained housing supply and shifting buyer preferences, bridging finance remains a vital tool for helping Australians move forward with confidence,” he said.
