Harvard Business School professor and corporate strategist scheduled to deliver the intensive course
AFG recently announced an education program for its top brokers called the AFG Academy, which involves an “intensive 3-day live-in course” in Sydney next September. The program will be delivered by Harvard Business School professor David Collis.
AFG CEO David Bailey said the program will provide attendees a rare opportunity to gain insights from experts in the arena of corporate strategy.
“I was fortunate enough to attend a corporate strategy management course at Harvard in 2017. That experience took me out of my comfort zone and really made me think differently about the AFG business. In addition, the quality of the lectures was like nothing I had ever experienced before,” Bailey said in a statement.
Collis is a corporate strategy expert and a best-selling author. He has been teaching at the university for 30 years, and is also a faculty member of several Harvard Business School Executive Education programs.
The AFG Academy is structured according to the ‘case study method’, which engages students in an intensive hands-on format. AFG hopes this will enable its brokers to gain practical knowledge that they can apply to their businesses. The course requires a high level of commitment as it involves weeks of pre-reading, three days of on-site lectures and intensive tasks.
Bailey said the aggregator takes its size and market share seriously, and wants to help its broker partners to be the best that they can be.
In compliance with the recommendations of the Combined Industry Forum, AFG selected the brokers who will attend based on factors such as quality measures and good customer outcomes.
“AFG is committed to supporting our brokers. An investment in their business performance, strategy and education delivers shared success,” Bailey said.
