With 2015’s Brokers on Aggregators survey now open, we revisit the messages from last year
With 2015’s Brokers on Aggregators survey now open, we revisit the messages from last year.
Our surveys are all about bringing individual feedback together to make a big impact. Sometimes however it’s the individual experiences, both good and bad, which can tell you the most about the state of the industry.
If you’ve yet to take our 2015 Brokers on Aggregators survey we hope this selection of comments will inspire you to get involved – remember, the survey closes on Friday 6th March.
1. “% split on comms is an old model. You need to demonstrate some value for the split, I don't see any”
2. “the scale should be from 1 - 6 where 6 = AWESOME because as a new broker, …* have been a great help and made what I thought was going to be a daunting few weeks into something a lot more manageable and interesting”
3. “I feel my aggregator is cutting back on such things as training IT and BDM support when these were things that they were industry leaders in. They promote their software as industry benchmark but don't give enough support to use it properly. Its all web based training now as is other training they used to offer”
4. “I am happy with …*, as they have supported and advised me from the start. Good group”
5. “it is not just one thing that causes a change of aggregator. There is also the "culture" or "feel" of the business. For example one aggregator has an entirely different feel in SA than in other states - where the SA model would encourage me to stay - while other states do not have this same "X" factor although part of the same Aggregation group”
6. “…* are really leading the industry in terms of their offering. There are some really clever people who are passionate about me making a success of my business”
7. “Probably about half the aggregators seem to run the same old storyline, "get the brokers signed up and she'll be right mate". There’s a culture based on fat commissions, the old sales orientated business culture”
8. “…* are the best in the business and I won't be leaving them any time soon. Not sure why good brokers go with other aggregators who take a cut of your commission”
9. “Aggregators need to look at their business models. They created the volume/commission payment method. The industry is now more mature and they need to look at how they can add value in other way”
10. “I have been through 3 different aggregators in my 10 years as a broker and I believe …* are unparalleled in support and service”

*Why have we taken out aggregators' names?
As our 2015 Brokers on Aggregators survey is now open, we don’t want to distort the outcome; we just want you, the broker, to tell us about your aggregator.
