Sydney has recorded 65 new COVID cases - but bad news could be on the way after Premier Gladys Berejiklian warned tomorrow’s numbers could be higher.
And as Sydney continues in its hard lockdown, news is breaking in The Australian that Victoria will enter a snap lockdown from midnight tonight.
It appears that state authorities are already meeting and an announcement is expected within hours, following a plea from Victoria’s COVID commander for MCG spectators to “stop what you are doing and get tested.”
The alert follows the news that a 60-year-old Carlton vs Geelong spectator has tested positive, with two more cases linked to that venue.
And how are we doing as a nation in terms of vaccination to hopefully stop these lockdowns?
Being kind, our scorecard is “must try harder” according to today’s New York Times figures. We’re currently at 9.5% - perched in 78th place (fully vaccinated percent of population) – not quite as good as Suriname, slightly better than Albania.
