How often do you see brokers in a week?
I try and see as many business partners as possible by way of one to one individual meetings for those difficult deals, all the way to running ‘solutions based’ workshops. The key is to find that mix of experience whether it is a long term broker or new to industry broker.
What do brokers want most from you?
Support and reliability. Brokers want to rely on the fact that I will not only provide them with exceptional service but provide a speedy response to a difficult or tricky scenario that they may not come across on a regular basis.
What is your favourite part of the job?
Fortunately, working for Liberty we provide multiple solutions to many client circumstances through our Custom and Prime suite of products. This allows me to utilise my experience to assist not only our business partners, but also their clients in providing a positive outcome.
What distinguishes the best brokers you deal with?
Business partners who are not afraid to look outside the box for a solution, who are keen to embrace diversification and provide multiple solutions to each individual client.
Describe your ideal weekend
When my wife takes me on a magical mystery tour around Pitt St Mall usually against my will - what I think that is my wife's ideal weekend!
What’s the strangest lending scenario you’ve ever encountered?
Having spent 8 years in the UK working for a non-conforming lender pre-GFC there were certainly many strange scenarios!
How do you like your steak done?
