BDM in the spotlight asks a different BDM the same questions – giving you a weekly insight into the lives of some of the top BDMs in the country.
How often do you see brokers in a week?
At least a few days a week. I try to keep Mondays and Fridays as admin days.
What do brokers want most from you?
Open policy and lower rates mostly… and from time to time they also want a BDM that is knowledgeable and available. They need answers and they need answers “now”.

What is your favourite part of the job?
Finding solutions for brokers - making their jobs easier. I’d love to change my job title to “Solutionist” – but is that even a word?
What distinguishes the best brokers you deal with?
They get it!! They get the solution aspect and it’s not always all about rate.

Describe your ideal weekend.
Relaxing with the family or catching up with the boys. Either way they both usually involve jet skis or motorbikes.

What’s the strangest lending scenario you’ve ever encountered?
We love the outside the box scenarios, so I’ve had all the strange ones. But strange has become the new norm so I can’t really think of any stand out ones.

How do you like your steak done? (that is, if you eat steak!)
I like my steak done without salad hahaha. Medium please and extra mushroom sauce…… you know, for the chips.
