Strategic partnerships director moves on after 20 years with the firm
Bluestone’s managing director of strategic partnerships has left the business after 20 years with the organisation.
Peter Wood (pictured above left), started with Bluestone in early 2013 as chief operations officer, before moving into the role of managing director - New Zealand. He took on the role of managing director strategic partnerships in September 2021.
In a statement, Bluestone acknowledged that Wood played a “pivotal role” in its re-entry into the New Zealand market, launching the Select Home Loan programme in 2019 with the New Zealand Financial Services Group.
More recently, Wood was part of the team that launched ‘Mortgage Choice Amplify’, a suite of home loan products in Australia, Bluestone said.
“Peter’s legacy will be the strong relationships he built across financial services in New Zealand and Australia,” Bluestone said.
Bluestone chief customer officer James Angus (pictured above right) will add the strategic partnerships portfolio to his existing responsibilities, Bluestone said.
“James has an outstanding track record of leading highly successful sales teams and developing strategic distribution relationships,” Bluestone said.
Bluestone head of sales - New Zealand Sue Griffiths will work closely with Angus to continue to support its aggregator partners and advisors across the New Zealand network.
Griffiths, who plays a lead role in managing Bluestone’s aggregation relationships, said from an adviser facing perspective, it would be “business as normal”.
“We’re here to continue to support Kiwis and the New Zealand adviser network,” Griffiths said.
In support of International Woman’s Day on March 8, Griffiths said Bluestone business development managers would visit their networks, inviting advisers and other industry partners to attend local events to raise awareness and supporting gender equality.
Bluestone is the event partner for the 2023 New Zealand Mortgage Awards, and sponsors the New Brokerage of the Year category.
