Disgraced former mortgage broker to be released from jail today after completing 120 day sentence
Richard Pusey will be released from jail today after being handed out a 120 day sentence for 11 offences, including unlawful assault and using a carriage service to menace. Due to time already spent in custody, the former mortgage broker is now a free man after fronting the Melbourne Magistrates Court via video link.
According to ABC news, Pusey sat silently during the sentencing, showing no emotion.
Pusey made the headlines in 2020 after he filmed four police officers as they lay dying from a crash. On Monday, he pleaded guilty to a host of other offences, including an altercation whereby he was said to have dragged a woman up the stairwell of his home before showing her a noose that he had strung from his ceiling.
Pusey also harassed a Westpac bank manager, using social media to glean information about the manager’s family before sending threatening emails.

Magistrate Hayley Bate told the Melbourne Magistrates Court there was a "clear pattern" to Pusey's behaviour.
"Mr Pusey reacted to common interactions with members of the community with outrage, disdain, immaturity and no regard for the law," she said. "I do not... find there to be any evidence of genuine remorse."
Pusey was placed on a good behaviour bond and ordered to continue mental health treatment with his current doctors for two years. He was also fined $3,300.
On Tuesday, ASIC banned Pusey from operating in financial services and credit for 10 years. According to ABC news, it is understood that he may still be able to collect ongoing trail commissions from his previous work as a broker.
