ALI Group paid out over $9million in claims for heart attacks since 2003
Supporting the Heart Foundation’s Heart Health Week, a loan and mortgage protection provider is encouraging brokers to have conversations with their clients about their health – and also to live healthier lives themselves.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Australia and ALI Group has paid out more than $9 million in claims for heart attacks and close to $1.3 million for coronary bypass related claims.
ALI Group has always encouraged brokers to offer loan protection to their customers to prepare for unexpected life events – and these events often include heart attacks or heart surgery. To start the conversation around heart health, the group has shared some insights from claims it has paid out related to heart health.
The figures show policy holders ranging from 35 years old up to 61, demonstrating that it really can happen to any age. The list also includes those who passed away from heart-related issues and many still living.
The money paid out in these claims means either they or their family are not left with the added difficulty of paying the mortgage on top of everything else.
In many cases, the mortgage broker is the only person borrowers speak to who can explain the benefits of mortgage protection cover.
