Loan Market names new state director for NSW, ACT

Loan Market has announced the appointment of Group Executive of Commercial Finance Stephen Scahill (pictured) as state director for NSW & ACT.

Scahill serves as one of the most seasoned leaders in the industry and has been at Loan Market and LMG for over a decade. He has also been important in the network’s journey from being a franchise brand to becoming the largest broker network in Australia.

Speaking on Scahill’s appointment, Loan Market CEO David McQueen pointed out how his new role will be important to the firm.

“Steve’s experience and understanding of brokers is second to none. He’s not just about business growth; he’s about building a network where brokers feel part of a family; where support is real and success is mutual,” said McQueen.

Who is Stephen Scahill?

Scahill began his career as the general manager operations of Homeloans Ltd. In 2010, Scahill joined Loan Market as its chief operating officer while also taking on the role of head of Northern Region – NSW/ACT/QLD at FAST Group from August to November 2021.

Eventually, he took on the position of group executive, commercial & asset finance.

“I’ve been part of this journey since 2010, and what’s always driven me is making sure our brokers feel like they’re part of something meaningful. With the growth we’re seeing, it’s about keeping that family feel while giving brokers everything they need to succeed,” said Scahill.

Scahill’s expanded role follows the Loan Market NSW & ACT’s move to strengthen its local leadership. Together with Scahill, the firm has announced the appointment of three new broker support specialists for NSW & ACT: Alberto Gorgioski for the role of associate director, Andrew Drake for the role of head of growth, and Marko Putica for the role of broker success manager.
