Webinar will focus on resilience
One of the rescuers of the Thai Wild Boars junior soccer team is set to share their story at Bankwest’s first broker event of the year.
The event, to be held on April 07, is part of Bankwest’s Connect series, designed to inform and empower brokers.
Themed “Against all Odds - Resilience and Rescue”, the webinar will feature keynote speaker Dr Richard Harris (pictured), an Australian anaesthetist and cave diver.
Harris was one of the divers involved in the rescue of the Thai Wild Boars junior soccer team, who along with their coach, were trapped by floodwaters in the Tham Luang cave in northern Thailand in 2018.

Harris will talk to brokers about using his experience in anaesthesia, diving, and aeromedical retrieval medicine, which along with his resilience, helped him to make decisions in the face of adversity and overcome all odds.
Bankwest general manager third party Ian Rakhit (pictured) said Bankwest connect events aimed to deliver insights to brokers on topics relevant to their personal and professional life, to motivate and empower them.
“The Connect Event series aims to share information to equip brokers with a range of tools and inspire them to perform at their best,” Rakhit said.
“The ability to think outside the square is a useful skill, particularly when finding solutions to lending challenges for customers.
“It is part of an ongoing series of non-finance related topics, including health and wellbeing, which are intrinsic to brokers’ success.”
