She will be tasked with supporting businesses in executing cyber best practices
Australia’s largest aggregator LMG has announced the appointment of a dedicated cyber coach to enhance its digital security initiatives amid rising online threats.
Information security specialist Laura Bennett (pictured above) has been named LMG’s security consultant for cyber education, training, and awareness, bringing to the role extensive experience in information management across Australia and New Zealand.
She previously worked as an information security analyst at Kiwibank and has recently collaborated with private companies to reduce risks in data handling and information systems.
“Security is one of our top priorities,” said Luke Jarmaine, LMG’s chief information and security officer. “Laura will be tasked with supporting businesses in executing best practice cybersecurity, providing them with greater confidence in their everyday activities, especially dealing with sharing and storing sensitive data and information.”
Jarmaine noted that Bennett’s appointment is the latest effort by LMG to create a more resilient digital workplace for its brokers, enhancing their confidence in dealings with customers and lenders.
“We have invested significantly into cutting-edge technology to secure our platforms against the cyber threats posed by hackers, scammers and other malicious actors,” Jarmaine said. “As a group, we’ve achieved the ISO27001:2022 certification and assessed up to the SOC2 Type 2 standard which demonstrates our commitment to embedding security and privacy controls into platforms and our organisation.
“Laura will lead the education of our network – supported by the on-the-ground business support specialists – and adoption of risk-management practices so our businesses feel and act safer in a rapidly evolving environment.”
