“All my deals are equally important to me,” Patel says. “However, one that was interestingly challenging last year was for a major condo developer. As part of this deal, I successfully placed 25 mortgages – a total funding volume of $15 million – in a compressed period of six weeks. Although there were similarities in these deals, each was unique and had to be worked individually to develop a financing solution that best met the clients’ requirements and financial capacity. We managed to close all 25 mortgages on time and to the satisfaction of our clients – and lenders. In hindsight, what worked was developing a project plan for this deal and having various checkpoints to ensure that no deal was slipping through the cracks.”
