The outstanding story of Tracy Valko and her meteoric rise as a woman of influence in the mortgage sector
Tracy Valko, founder of Valko Financial, recently sat down with CMPTV to discuss her induction into the Women of Influence list as well as her exceptional contributions to the mortgage industry.
Before becoming recognized in the mortgage sector, Valko’s journey began in the banking industry. Growing up in a family immersed in the sector, Valko naturally gravitated towards the world of finance. However, it was her transition into the broker space that marked a pivotal moment in her career. With an innate desire to provide diverse opportunities for her clients’ financial needs, Valko founded Valko Financial with the goal of understanding her clients’ financial situations and providing short- and long-term strategies for success.
Valko emphasized some of the crucial traits that empower women to excel in the mortgage industry. In particular, she pointed to resilience, determination to overcome challenges, and compassion in roles of leadership. She also highlighted that women often face underutilization and undervaluation, making traits like resilience and compassion useful qualities to foster strong connections, support team members, and bring a unique perspective to balance the industry’s landscape.
Valko also highlighted two major changes she wanted to see in the industry - those being addressing the importance of gender equality, and setting a positive example for women in the industry. She advocates for diversity in positions of leadership and encourages young women to trust their instincts and nurture a mindset of resilience and self-belief.
While she believes there is still lots of work to do, Valko serves as a testament to the power of determination, self-assurance, and unwavering dedication. Valko has not only set an example for young aspiring female professionals in the industry, but has actively worked to carve out a new path for women to excel and succeed.
