Lender expands services to independent brokers
Rocket Mortgage Canada is entering the mortgage broker space with Rocket Mortgage Pro, aimed at serving independent mortgage brokers in Canada, a company executive said.
Rocket Mortgage Canada executive vice president Bekim Merdita shared the new broker offering on social media.
“We are thrilled to now be serving independent Mortgage Brokers in Canada,” Merdita wrote on LinkedIn. “Our team at Rocket Mortgage Canada has been tirelessly working the past 4+ years to refine our processes and technology for a faster, more service-oriented mortgage experience for our direct-to-consumer mortgage agents and end consumers.”
Merdita said Rocket Pro features in-call support, training, and faster turnaround times.
“We’re ready to demonstrate to the Canadian broker community what a ‘Rocket Pro’ experience and true partnership looks like,” he said in his post.
Merdita also acknowledged the efforts of the core Rocket Pro team: “Of course, there have been so many contributors worthy of praise but special shoutouts are in order for our core Rocket Pro team of Jerrod Smith, Tori Preney, Brendan Woodfull, Chris Colasanti, and Brett Pepper as well as our internal software development team led by Bidur Subedi.”
BRX Mortgage, led by Scott Peckford and Denise Laframboise, will be Rocket Pro's first and exclusive partner, providing valuable feedback to further develop the platform.
“The team at BRX will be giving us the critical early feedback we need to build the best lending product and technology platform possible,” Merdita said.

Rocket Companies’ Canadian arm officially launched as a brokerage in March 2020. After a year, the company rebranded from Edison Financial to Rocket Mortgage Canada.
This launch follows a similar move by Rocket Companies in the US, where Quicken Loans Mortgage Services (QLMS) was rebranded to Rocket Pro TPO in 2020. Rocket Pro TPO focuses on providing mortgage brokers with comprehensive support, including marketing, technology, and referral networking.
Last October, Rocket Companies subsidiary Lendesk rolled out an AI assistant for brokers. The assistant utilizes a vast database of mortgage policies from lenders across Canada, simplifying complex information and offering tailored solutions for clients' needs, the company said.
“As one of the first companies to test this transformative technology, we have been extremely pleased with the results,” Rocket Mortgage Canada president Hash Aboulhosn said. “Our top priority is providing excellent client service – this tool helps lessen time spent searching through lender products, empowering our agents to streamline their workflow and assist clients more knowledgably and quickly.”
