Ontario brokerage launches resource platform for agent support
Tribe Financial, an independent mortgage firm, has rolled out a new online portal for its agents.
The new in-house portal provides agents with access to various resources and tools aimed at enhancing their professional knowledge, marketing capabilities, and overall support.
Some key features of the portal include comprehensive training videos, marketing tools, and customizable templates, up-to-date lender resources, as well as health and wellness resources, including access to group health benefits and an in-house life insurance specialist.
"Our new online portal is designed to provide our agents with seamless access to essential resources that empower them to succeed," said Frances Hinojosa, Tribe Financial's CEO and co-founder.
The Ontario-based mortgage brokerage said the portal is in line with recent guidance from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) on raising professionalism in the industry. FSRA has emphasized the importance of brokerages in managing, mentoring, supervising, and training agents, a vision Hinojosa said Tribe Financial’s new portal directly supports.

According to a 2020 FSRA survey, only half of principal brokers at large brokerages with over 100 licensees had the authority to influence their firm's compliance culture.
"We are providing this guidance to make sure principal brokers are empowered to make decisions and influence agent and broker behaviours that lead to the fair treatment of consumers looking to get, renew or invest in a mortgage," said Huston Loke, executive vice president of market conduct at FSRA. "Principal brokers play the crucial role of ensuring a mortgage brokerage operates effectively, ethically, and in compliance with all legal requirements."
“This development reflects our continuous efforts to support our agents' professional growth and aligns with our dedication to raising industry standards,” Tribe Financial said in a statement emailed to Canadian Mortgage Professional (CMP).
