New executive has previously held high-level positions at several major market names
Institutional Mortgage Capital has announced the appointment of Peter Dimakarakos as its new managing director and portfolio manager.
Dimakarakos, who has previously held executive positions at several major market players across North America, joins IMC with more than 25 years of experience in investment and corporate banking, structured finance, commercial real estate, and portfolio management.
As a member of the senior leadership team, Dimakarakos will be co-leading IMC's origination platform alongside Darren Schmidt, managing director and head of high-yield investments. Dimakarakos will be collaborating with Paul Scholz, managing director and portfolio manager, in co-managing IMC’s Active Mortgage Fund, which is focused on commercial mortgage investments.
Dimakarakos will report to Bob Fitzpatrick, managing director and head of Core and Core Plus investments and client relationships, IMC said.
“There is heightened demand for lower risk investment solutions that provide yield enhancement, and our approach is resonating with investors,” Fitzpatrick said. “As the AMF continues to grow, Peter’s background and strong relationships in the Canadian market will add value to our business and help position our team for continued success.”
