Housing project to add much-needed supply to the Powassan region
The federal government has announced a new tranche of investment funds intended for the development of additional housing supply for Powassan, Ontario.
Situated at 175 Big Bend Avenue and operated by the Non-Profit Organization for Almaguin Housing Inc. (NOAH), the project is slated to receive approximately $16 million in funding for the creation of new affordable homes.
Each of the units will feature accessibility options for the region’s seniors, according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Located in the vicinity of the project is the Powassan Medical Centre, along with various pharmacies and shopping centres.

“Seniors deserve to retire safely and with dignity, and that is why our government is committed to investing in affordable housing here in Powassan and across Canada. By partnering with the province, we are providing a helping hand for individuals and families in need,” added Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion.
