The AIC and a Quebec university are partnering to deliver a program to help those working towards their AACI and CRA designations.
The Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) and the Faculté des sciences de l’administration (FSA ULaval), Université Laval are partnering to deliver the AIC Professional Program of Study in French to real estate valuation professionals working towards the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) and Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) professional designation.
“AIC is pleased to partner with FSA ULaval to provide a new option to French-speaking Candidate Members to achieve their AACI and CRA designation in their preferred language,” says Daniel Doucet, AACI P.App, President of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. “We are confident that the FSA ULaval program meets AIC’s high educational standards and learning objectives and will provide our members with the right qualifications, knowledge and competencies to succeed in real estate markets throughout Québec, Canada and internationally.”
The French AIC Program of Professional Studies Program will offer classroom and distance learning courses through FSA ULaval’s regular undergraduate certificate program in real estate, the Programme de Certificat en Gestion urbaine et immobilière, for the AACI professional designation and its microprogram in real estate, the Microprogramme en Gestion urbaine et immobilière for the CRA professional designation.
The distance courses will be available to all French-speaking candidate members across the country through advanced distance learning technology.
“The Department of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate at FSA ULaval is proud to join AIC,” says Marie-Claude Beaulieu, head of the Department, “building on our 40 years of experience in the field of real estate. We are pleased to offer our French-speaking distance courses in real estate for both CRA and AACI professional designations.”
To obtain an AACI or CRA designation, individuals begin their careers as a Candidate Member of AIC and progress through the required FSA ULaval courses and additional AIC designation requirements – including guided case studies, applied experience program, work product reviews and professional competency interviews.
A post-secondary degree is required to be awarded with an AIC designation.
