It's often the most hotly debated finding in CAAMP's annual survey, but the research is once again suggesting consumer satisfaction with AMP-arranged mortgages is higher than the rest.
"Accredited Mortgage Professionals (AMPs) are also doing a fantastic job servicing their clientele," according the Fall 2012 Consumer and Industry Survey conducted by Maritz for CAAMP. "Among those customers who identified their mortgage broker as an AMP, 59 per cent are completely satisfied with their mortgage, compared with just 35 per cent among those who say they did not deal with an AMP."
That wording is similar to that of the previous survey's, where 46 per cent of consumers dealing with an AMP broker said they were "very satisfied" as opposed to the 38 per cent reading for brokers, in general.
The results have raised eyebrows among brokers but also questions about consumer perceptions around the AMP designation and what if any role they play in the responses.
Still, the report suggests that clients are taking note of the professional qualifications of their mortgage professionals and what that may or may not bring to the originations process.
"This is a very substantial difference, and points to the professional nature of AMPs, and their ability to instill a strong sense of confidence in their clients that they have chosen the right mortgage professional," reads CAAMP's December 2012 MortgageInsights.
