Industry veteran Barbara Cook is now working to grow part of the DLC Group
Mortgage Centre Canada (MCC) has announced that Barbara Cook has joined their team as VP of Franchise Development.
Prior to joining MCC, Cook was Verico Canada’s VP of national business development, where she implemented and maintained a strategic plan to advance sales growth for the Verico network across Canada. Recruiting mortgage brokers and agents throughout Eastern Canada, she doubled Verico sales in 2017 by bringing more than 26 new firms into the network. In 2018, Cook recruited an additional 19 firms. These additions brought more than $2.5 billion into Verico in less than four years.
Cook is a self-proclaimed “results-driven” sales professional with more than 17 years of experience in the financial services industry.
“Barbara’s knowledge and experience in lending, training, and brokerage operations will contribute to the growth and professionalism of MCC. Barbara brings fresh ideas and a perspective that will positively enhance our business for the future,” said MCC President Rich Spence.
In Cook’s new role at MCC, her focus will be to build and maintain key relationships with existing, new, and potential mortgage professionals, as well as help to improve the services that MCC offers to enable the growth of their network. Cook, who takes a consultative, informative approach to sales, fulfils MCCs search for professionals to bring frech perspectives and ideas to their network.
Cook was named one of CMPs Women of Influence for 2018 and 2019, and was a finalist for the Woman of Distinction award earlier this year. She is a member of MPC, CMBA, and MBABC, and she continues to raise the bar for everyone in the mortgage industry.
MCC became Canada's first national mortgage broker organization in 1989, and is Canada's longest-standing mortgage brokerage network. Today, the group has more than 250 offices and more than 1,600 agents nationwide.
