In what the company is referring to as a “first” for the industry, one mortgage network has launched a consumer-facing web portal.
“This is a real innovation for the broker channel,” Mike Cameron, managing partner at Axiom said. “It will give our agents a real competitive advantage in an increasingly technology driven world. It will really allow our agents to stand out with both their referral sources and clients alike.”
Large financial institutions -- such as banks – have, for years, offered consumer-facing we portals that allow customers to access resources as well as account information. However, such an offering has never been offered to clients of the mortgage broker channel, according to Cameron.
“The portal will allow Axiom brokers’ clients to update basic contact information such as phone numbers and email address, view outstanding conditions, gain access to various mortgage resources,” the company stated in its internal release, which has been obtained by MortgageBrokerNews.ca. “They can communicate directly with their Axiom mortgage agent or directly refer their agent to a friend.”
Clients can also upload documents securely and directly to the MyAxiom system for their agent to review, which eliminates the need of physically mailing or e-mailing documents.
