Governments funded the recently completed low-cost housing complex
A new youth-centric housing complex by Covenant House Vancouver has recently completed the second phase of its expansion project, and is slated to begin operations in early July.
The 40 newly completed shelter units are intended to accommodate youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Vancouver. The project was completed through a $7.8 million contribution from the federal government, along with $2.5 million from the government of British Columbia and $23.66 million from Covenant House Vancouver secured through independent donations.
BC Housing will also provide approximately $475,000 in annual operating funding for the 10-storey housing complex located at 1280 Seymour Street.
