Otéra Capital, the new subsidiary of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Quebec (CDPQ), has entered the commercial lending market and introduced its new management team.
“Our approach is to be solution providers, so we will work hand in hand with borrowers to try and understand their challenges and to provide tailor-made solutions, as opposed to other companies that are really product-specific,” said Jean Lamothe, newly appointed president of Otéra Capital, who has worked for the CDPQ for close to 15 years.
Lamothe said the Montreal-based Otéra Capital will work with mortgage brokers across Canada to find new financing opportunities. The company also plans to expand its lending activities outside of Canada and has created a division that will focus on international transactions.
