Revealed – Canada's top mortgage employers for 2025

Canadian Mortgage Professional (CMP) has released its list of the top mortgage brokerages and lenders to work for in 2025, highlighting companies that prioritise workplace satisfaction, employee development, and industry leadership.

As the role of mortgage brokers expands in Canada, Mortgage Professionals Canada’s (MPC) 2024 Mid-Year Report indicates that brokers now hold a 33% market share, reflecting a four-percentage-point increase since the end of 2022.

With broker market share on the rise, the annual ranking aims to identify mortgage employers that foster strong workplace cultures while equipping their teams with the resources needed to navigate the evolving industry landscape.

Selection criteria

To determine the top mortgage employers, CMP invited mortgage companies to submit nominations outlining their workplace policies, benefits, and employee engagement initiatives.

Employees from the nominated firms then participated in an anonymous survey evaluating their employers based on eight key factors:

  • Career advancement opportunities
  • Employee benefits
  • Compensation and incentives
  • Workplace culture
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Innovation in business practices
  • Industry reputation
  • Sustainability efforts

Companies were required to meet a minimum number of employee responses based on organisation size:

  • Firms with 10 to 100 employees needed at least 10 responses.
  • Firms with 101 to 500 employees needed at least 20 responses.
  • Firms with more than 500 employees needed at least 50 responses.

The highest-rated companies in each size category received gold, silver, or bronze distinctions based on overall employee satisfaction scores.
