The impact of Mississauga’s school boundaries on housing prices

Households buying in the Mississauga residential market tend to consider proximity to highly-ranked schools

The impact of Mississauga’s school boundaries on housing prices

Young families who are looking to avoid the crunch of the Toronto housing market often tend to gravitate towards nearby Mississauga, and a new analysis by real estate information portal Zoocasa has come to the aid of these property-seekers.

In its latest study, Zoocasa looked at the average prices of detached homes in Mississauga neighborhoods, and compared these to the highest- and lowest-ranked elementary school districts by EQAO score.

“The data reveals that higher house prices don't always mean a better school. Average house prices in the boundary of the school with the top EQAO score is $1.3 million less than the most expensive school boundary which has a slightly lower EQAO score,” Zoocasa noted.
