All throughout 2023, Key Media’s 30-strong Intelligence Unit researched and produced a series of Special Reports, each showcasing the top-performing mortgage professionals and companies across a number of important professional categories.
All of our 172 published reports over the past 12 months have already attracted 2.4 million online pageviews, as we’ve crowned 5,044 deserving winners globally.
In the process, 150,000 readers across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US have been sent our surveys. The culmination of all that extensive reporting is our annual Global Best in Mortgage digital edition.
The Global Best in Mortgage recognises the mortgage award winners from 2023’s Special Reports and features a combined 992 individuals and companies from the sector.
This prestigious list provides a definitive annual collection of those who have delivered outstanding results, introduced new initiatives, refined existing working practices, and also acted as a source of inspiration to colleagues.
Gavin Richardson, managing director at UK firm Mortgages for Business, says, “We’re delighted to have won Top Mortgage Employer for the second year running. It’s a real testament to the work we’ve put in to make Mortgages for Business the brokerage our clients love working with and our people love working for.”
Individual winner Elizabeth Wood, chief compliance officer and executive vice president at Canadian Mortgages Inc (CMI), adds, “To be named among the Top Mortgage industry leaders making an international impact is a tremendous honour. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done to help build CMI into a market-leading private lender. Even more meaningful is the recognition of my deep commitment to diversity and inclusion at an industry level.”
This annual guide was curated and published by Australian Broker, Canadian Mortgage Professional, Mortgage Introducer, Mortgage Professional America, Mortgage Professional Australia, and NZ Adviser.
We also thank all the following industry bodies for their help with our reports:

Below is the Global Best in Mortgage. We hope you enjoy discovering those who we believe are shining brightest and building a better future for the mortgage industry.
Each year, our research team sends out thousands of surveys to the mortgage industry, which it then follows up with phone interviews to find out just who the industry thinks is worthy of recognition. The shortlisted finalists are then put in front of our judging panel to help make a final decision on who to include in the list of award winners.

CMBA is an inter-jurisdictional umbrella association consisting of provincial mortgage broker associations in Canada. The mandate of CMBA is to strengthen the efficiencies of provincial mortgage broker associations and enable them to focus on providing regional services to their members while sharing certain cross jurisdictional costs, programs and advocacy initiatives among provincial associations.
CMBA provides mortgage broker professionals with a forum to work cooperatively; better share resources, branding initiatives, programs and information; and coordinate the engagement of members to identify trends and develop solutions to common industry and regulatory issues. At CMBA, we also offer education for all levels of experience. From the mortgage agent course for newcomers to the industry to continuing education for those renewing their license or wanting to enhance their key skills through our national library, we have education options that suit your needs.
All provincial mortgage broker associations belonging to CMBA have adopted the mark of membership for their members – MB. CMBA and its provincial mortgage associations promote the MB logo to mortgage consumers to let them know that their best mortgage advice comes from a mortgage broker and to look for the mark of membership to find a mortgage broker.
