William began his career as a Civil Engineer. After the purchase of his first property, he discovered his growing interest in the property market. He had built pipelines, bridges and solved math problems. This is very similar to financial advisers. Both professions aim to assist their clients to solve the challenges they face and guide them through ultimately achieving their end goal.

William Tieu joined Simply Finance in June 2020 and was under the wing of Eddie Liew, an amazing mentor, along with the unwavering support of the fun, talented and experienced team! Having personal interest and experience in property ownership has allowed William to passionately provide financial advice to help others achieve their own property dreams.

The Covid-19 pandemic impacted businesses and peoples livelihood by creating anxiety for many Kiwis. When the lock-downs happened, there was a noticeable increase in Kiwis requiring more financial advice and assistance. As a result, William leveraged the power of social media platforms to reach out to these everyday Kiwis.

Business has grown 300% in the last 12 months. William is on track to double his previous year’s numbers. He finds two things the most rewarding from his career: seeing the huge smile on his clients faces after settlement, and being able to support his sustainability pledge of donating and planting 100 trees by the end of the year.
