Avanti Finance has announced the appointment of Ben Anderson (pictured) as its new chief risk officer.
Anderson joins the firm with extensive experience in banking, specializing in operational risk and compliance, financial risk, and credit risk management across retail, small business, and commercial sectors.
“Ben’s broad experience and deep understanding of risk management will play a critical role as we continue to grow,” said Avanti Finance Group CEO Fred Ohlsson.
Who is Ben Anderson?
Anderson began his career as a relationship manager at ANZ. For 15 years, he climbed up the ranks and took on roles such as operation risk and compliance manager, head of risk, business bank, business and operational risk and ANZ business bank.
He was also senior manager credit delivery, business bank and retail, head of credit delivery and assurance, business bank and retail, and head of operational risk and compliance, ANZ Pacific.
Following his time at ANZ, Anderson joined ASB Bank, where he served in the roles of head of credit risk, business bank, general manager credit and customer solutions, and head of financial risk, business and corporate bank.
Anderson holds a bachelor of commerce degree and a bachelor of legislative law degree from the University of Auckland and an MBA from the University of Waikato.
