ANZ has appointed Paul Goodwin as United States Country Head – replacing Grant Knuckey, who was recently appointed as the chief risk officer for ANZ New Zealand and Pacific.
Goodwin, who has been with ANZ for 16 years, is the managing director for Institutional for New Zealand at ANZ. Before joining the financial services company, he held senior corporate finance roles at Credit Suisse in the UK and the National Bank of New Zealand.
He is expected to begin his new role upon regulatory approval and would report to Farhan Faruqui, the group executive of ANZ’s international business.
“Under Paul’s leadership, our New Zealand Institutional business has consolidated a leading market position, topping league tables across nearly all products,” Faruqui commented.
“I am confident [that] his deep experience [in] managing customer relationships will be a great contributor to the strength of our US business. The US is an important market in ANZ’s global network and remains [significant] to our strategy of facilitating trade and capital flows across our home markets and the Asia Pacific.”
