FMA consults on climate disclosure

New guidance for climate reporting entities

FMA consults on climate disclosure

The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) is requesting feedback on a proposed information sheet to guide climate reporting entities (CREs) in their disclosure documents under the climate-related disclosures (CRD) regime.

This includes Product Disclosure Statements, Other Material Information, Statements of Investment Policies and Objectives, and annual reports.

Promoting informed participation

FMA aims to promote confident and informed participation in financial markets through clear guidance for CREs.

“Setting out our guidance for CREs’ disclosure documents in light of the new CRD regime contributes to our objective of promoting the confident and informed participation of businesses, investors, and consumers in our financial markets,” the FMA said.

Call for feedback

The FMA encourages stakeholders to read the consultation paper and provide their feedback by Aug. 30.

The initiative is part of the FMA’s broader effort to ensure transparency and reliability in climate-related financial disclosures.

Read the FMA consultation paper and have your say.
