Excitement builds for industry's night of nights
The New Zealand Mortgage Awards will be back in 2023 as an in-person ceremony for the first time and now another two major companies have come on board as sponsors.
Mike Pero Mortgages, owned by Liberty, and ASB Bank are providing their support to New Zealand’s premier event for advisers, lenders, aggregators and BDMs.
Rob Klenner (pictured above left), general manager at Mike Pero Mortgages, said the New Zealand Mortgage Awards is the leading independent awards program in the New Zealand mortgage industry.
“This sponsorship provides the opportunity to recognise the significant contribution New Zealand advisers make to helping Kiwis realise their property dreams,” Klenner said. “As a business, we understand the needs of advisers and the work they put into building their businesses. We are proud supporters of brokerages that carve their own path and help more customers achieve their finance goals.”
Klenner said a standout brokerage had a focus on ensuring there was always the best possible customer outcome and provided a strong customer experience.
“Having the customer at the centre of everything they do is incredibly important as they grow, innovate and diversify their businesses,” he said.
“The value proposition of an adviser is expanding and it is such an exciting industry to be involved in. The ability for advisers to build their business in a sustainable way while motivating and helping customers to achieve a good outcome through this potentially challenging period will be increasingly important.
Klenner said Mike Pero Mortgages’ support of the NZMAs was about recognising and celebrating the nominees and winners.
“We are looking forward to connecting with the best of the best in our industry, supporting our nominated advisers and taking the opportunity to catch up with advisers and business partners,” he said.
“The NZMAs are a very special event and the fact that the industry is able to get together in person for the first time is sensational. At the end of the day, advisers are at the coalface, so the more we engage, listen and understand what their challenges may be, the better we can support them.
“As an industry, this is an opportunity to come together, take stock of the year that has been, recognise and celebrate the strides the industry has taken and collaboratively look ahead to the future together.”
ASB Bank executive general manager personal banking Adam Boyd (pictured above right) said the bank was excited to partner with NZ Adviser to celebrate this prestigious event.
“The New Zealand Mortgage Awards recognise the top advisers in the mortgage industry and we’re looking forward to acknowledging advisers who have done an exceptional job to help Kiwis into homes and with their home ownership goals throughout 2022,” Boyd said.
“During this time, we’ve continued to invest in our third-party distribution team to deliver an even better experience for brokers. We recognise the important role advisers play in providing guidance and advice, in what continues to be a challenging housing market for consumers.”
The NZMAs are hosted by Key Media and supported by NZ Adviser. The awards will be held at the Hilton Auckland on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
