“We plan to grow the number of high-quality, professional advisers that we have”
Mortgage Express recently added former Westpac banking consultant Remy Cuttle to its ranks in Manawatu, and general manager David Gopperth says the firm is looking to expand its national presence with more hires over the coming year.
“It’s certainly been part of the business plan that we’ve got at Mortgage Express,” Gopperth commented.
“I’ve been trying to create a national footprint around New Zealand, and it’s fair to say that we’ve had some great opportunities where we’ve located some excellent ex-bankers and ex-advisers to join our team.”

“We’ve also looked into the lower North Island, and we have some recruitment activity going on in that space,” he continued. “It’s definitely part of our business plan to grow the number of high-quality, professional advisers that we have.”
Mortgage Express is owned by real estate agency Harcourts, and Gopperth says the partnership has been a significant boost to the brokerage - particularly when it comes to its client referral relationship across the country.
“Mortgage Express has an alignment with the Harcourts head office in Auckland, but the majority of our advisers are located in Harcourts offices throughout New Zealand,” Gopperth said.
“Around half of our advisers are based in Auckland, but we also have advisers in places like Dunedin, Christchurch, Blenheim and Nelson, and a great team in Hamilton.”

“The partnership with Harcourts is a great privilege, and it gives us a fantastic opportunity to work with the agents and deliver some great services for both the client, and the real estate agent that’s been referred to us,” he said.
“They’re our biggest referral source, and it’s a relationship that we’re pretty thrilled to have.
“We’re in a phase where we think we’ve got some fantastic offerings for the marketplace, and our main goal is to deliver an outstanding service to clients.”
