Fresh perspective at Infometrics board
Infometrics has announced that Nick Brunsdon (pictured above), principal economist and lead demographer, has been appointed to the board of directors.
Brunsdon, who joined the firm in 2019, has been instrumental in advancing Infometrics’ analytical models and client services.
Contributions and innovations
Brunsdon led the development of Infometrics’ population projection model, which uniquely factors in economic prospects as drivers of population growth.
He also spearheaded the redevelopment of the Quarterly Economic Monitor, enhancing its socio-economic coverage.
Brunsdon “is a key part of our team, delivering excellent insights into regional economies across New Zealand,” said Chris Whelan, chairperson of the Infometrics board.

Client focus and consulting work
Brunsdon is known for his client-focused approach, engaging with clients nationwide through economic insights, training workshops, and presentations.
He conducts consulting work for both public and private sector clients, including numerous economic impact assessments.
“He brings a fresh perspective to the board, in line with our tradition of critical thinking,” Whelan said.
Recognition and future prospects
Brunsdon’s board appointment follows his promotion to principal economist and lead demographer earlier this year.
“Chief executive Brad Olsen, the directors, and I look forward to working with Nick in the coming years as we continue to serve our clients across the country,” Whelan said.
