NZ Fast Brokerage winners evaluated on revenue, settlement growth
New Zealand’s mortgage brokerages are achieving significant growth despite low levels of public awareness about the services they provide, according to recent findings from the Finance and Mortgage Advisers Association of New Zealand (FAMNZ).
The association's study revealed that only 28% of New Zealanders are highly familiar with mortgage adviser, underscoring the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
Despite this, a number of firms have managed to grow rapidly by focusing on client education and building trust, as evidenced by NZ Adviser’s recently published Fast Brokerages 2024 list.
The Fast Brokerages annual ranking highlights 14 brokerages that reported over 30% growth in combined revenue and settlement volumes during the past financial year.
Additionally, seven Fast Starters were recognised for their rapid growth within three years of starting operations.
Methodology and selection criteria
The process to identify these high-performing firms began in August 2024, when NZ Adviser invited brokerages to submit data from the 2022/23 and 2023/24 financial years. Participants were required to provide information on revenue, settlement volumes, and key growth milestones.
Brokerages were then evaluated based on their percentage growth in both revenue and settlements.
Firms achieving over 30% combined growth were named Fast Brokerages, while newer firms under three years old that demonstrated strong performance were categorised as Fast Starters.
Market leaders in growth
Two brokerages that stood out this year for their innovative approaches to growth included Finance Bloom and Reliable Financial Group. These firms have carved out niches in the competitive market through tailored client solutions and a focus on fostering trust.
Finance Bloom
Finance Bloom earned recognition both as a Fast Brokerage and a Fast Starter for achieving over 20% growth in revenue and settlements within the past 12 months.
Operating for less than three years, the firm credits its success to its collaborative business culture and a commitment to customised lending strategies that address individual client needs.
Reliable Financial Group
Reliable Financial Group, founded by a former banker, has developed a reputation for prioritising sustainability and client-focused values.
The brokerage’s team, which has more than two decades of combined experience in financial services, is dedicated to helping clients build assets and secure their financial futures. Its approach has helped it achieve significant growth despite wider industry challenges.
