“There’s a real focus in the investment space on what we recommend our clients invest in”
Select Wealth has been awarded the Toitū Enviromark Gold Certification, which recognises the actions the business has taken to make sure its environmental impact is managed in a safe and sustainable way.
Debbie Tuddenham, head of Select Wealth, said the business was ‘proud’ to receive the certification, as it recognises the company’s dedication to caring for the people and environment of New Zealand. She said Select Wealth had also been part of a broader focus on sustainability from across the investment sector, particularly when it comes to recommending investment products to clients.

“This certification is obtained through a rigorous audit process which focuses not only on policies around sustainability, but real actions being undertaken within the business, including KPI’s for all staff, as well as a focus on day to day activities,” Tuddenham commented.
“It also includes our suppliers and business partners, and aims to support and encourage them to act more sustainably.”
“While we have had our policies in place for some time, we knew that to achieve the certification we needed to look for key areas within the business that we could improve, and we’ve focused on that over the last year,” she explained.
“Part of the certification includes an annual review to keep us on a journey of continual improvement.”
Select Wealth is part of Investment Services Group (ISG), and Tuddenham said the wider organisation had also been actively promoting a strategy of sustainability.

“There’s a real focus in the investment space on what we recommend our clients invest in, and how they can do this in a sustainable way,” she said.
“For ISG, we wanted to really demonstrate our commitment to acting sustainably.
“We are committed to continually improving the sustainability of our business through promoting a culture of sustainability, managing our operations in a manner that minimises our environmental and social impacts and enabling the integration of sustainability principles and practices into our day-to-day operations and community engagement.”
