The bank says the error is being fixed
A systems error that wrongly informed some KiwiSaver customers that they had lost all their money is being fixed, ASB said.

On Tuesday, some customers logging on to check their KiwiSaver balances were shocked to find their retirement savings had dropped to zero.
One man whose savings are invested in the ASB KiwiSaver growth fund logged on only to find out that his money had plunged by $211,293 in the past year, taking his balance to zero, Stuff reported.
A message from ASB told customers, however, that it was “working to resolve an issue displaying incorrect balances” and to “check back later” to see how much their savings really were.

An ASB spokeswoman said the bank was working urgently to fix a technical issue on Tuesday afternoon which led one section of its mobile app and internet banking to incorrectly show customers’ ASB KiwiSaver Scheme balances.
“Customers’ KiwiSaver funds have not been impacted by this display error,” she told Stuff. “Balances displayed on the accounts page of our mobile app and online banking are correct. ASB apologises to customers for any concerns caused by this technical issue...”
