Trade Me unveils top suburbs and streets

Trade Me Property has revealed the most searched suburbs across Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch for July, with familiar names like Remuera, Hataitai, and Fendalton topping the list, alongside a few unexpected entries.

“Buyers always like to know that they’ve made a smart decision with their property purchase,” said Gavin Lloyd (pictured above), Trade Me Property customer director.

Best streets in top suburbs identified by local experts

Local real estate agents shared their insights on the best streets in these high-demand suburbs.

In Auckland’s Remuera, Arney Road and Victoria Ave were highlighted, while Christchurch’s Fendalton featured Wairarapa Terrace and Waiwetu Street as prime locations.

“It’s a bit like asking to name your favourite child, but they gave it a stab,” Lloyd said about the agents’ selections.

Buyers’ market: Plenty of listings and falling prices

Despite the popularity of these suburbs, the current market conditions favour buyers, with abundant listings and prices at a three-year low.

“If you’re in the market for a new home... now could be a great time to buy,” Lloyd said.

Why residents love their suburbs

Residents shared their experiences living in these sought-after areas.

Architecture lecturer Gina Hochstein, who lives in Grey Lynn, Auckland, praised the suburb’s combination of community feel and proximity to Ponsonby, stating, “The steps act like an extension of the dining room.”

Christchurch suburbs like Fendalton and Cashmere are attracting buyers from other cities due to their affordability and lifestyle offerings.

Ray White Cashmere agent Shane Langman described Cashmere as the “Mt Eden or Parnell of Christchurch,” highlighting its strong community vibe and local amenities, Trade Me Property reported.
