The new head of technology for mortgages has been with the bank for roughly 18 years
Chris Boje, Westpac’s head of technology business lending, has been appointed to lead the bank’s end-to-end mortgages line of business and general insurance.

Boje took on the interim position as head of technology for mortgages after Joanne Walker left to join EY. Six months later, Boje has taken on the role on a permanent basis.
In his new role, Boje’s remit will extend to Westpac’s other brands including St George, Bank SA, Bank of Melbourne, and home loan subsidiary RAMS, itnews reported.
Boje said on his LinkedIn page that he “is humbled to be trusted to lead the CIO technology function for the largest business line in the consumer and business bank.”
Prior to taking on the dual role of acting head of technology for mortgages and overseeing business lending technology, Boje was Westpac’s head of technology for auto finance for over a year. He has been with the bank for nearly two decades, working his way up the bank’s digital and technology ladder.

Boje’s other notable roles include head of technology for commercial and specialist finance, where he led the development of the technology strategy and solutions and oversaw a team of around 80 people, itnews reported.
