Role is to provide customers with a bespoke banking service
Private bank Hampden & Co has appointed John Glanville as banking director in its London office.
Glanville (pictured left) joins from Kleinwort Hambros, where he spent more than 10 years, most recently in the ultra-high net worth team as a private banker.
At Hampden & Co, he will provide clients with a bespoke banking service, including day-to-day banking, deposits, and a range of tailored borrowing products. He will report to the head of banking, Mark Prentice (right in the picture).
Hampden & Co, which operates across the UK from offices in London and Edinburgh, also provides mortgage lending, including retirement, buy-to-let, self-build, and multi-property products.
The bank said that, with growing client numbers and strong financial performance, it had continued to add to its banking, senior management, and support teams throughout the past year.
This included the appointment as banking directors of Kevin Eagles, Alistair Macpherson, and Gill Sanders as banking directors, the recruitment of Hannah Berridge as head of professional partnerships, and of Jon Peake as chief financial officer. The bank now has 125 employees, up 22% in 2022.
Glanville said he was looking forward to meeting clients and to helping them achieve their goals.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining Hampden & Co as the bank continues to experience significant demand from a broad range of clients, professional intermediaries, and mortgage introducers,” he explained.
Prentice said of Glanville: “He brings extensive knowledge of private banking, and has a proven track-record of building trusted relationships with clients, managing their wealth and supporting their banking needs.”
