Scottish Mortgage Awards 2025 – Excellence Awardees revealed

As the mortgage market continues to prove challenging, it’s fantastic to be able to celebrate the tremendous talent upon which the industry thrives in Scotland. Now, with great excitement, the excellence awardees for the Scottish Mortgage Awards 2025 have been revealed.

An impressive roll-call of industry professionals have been named as finalists, ahead of the spectacular event on Thursday, June 19, at the Sheraton in Edinburgh; showcasing the very best in the profession, who have been carefully shortlisted from the many businesses and individuals who were put forward for this year’s awards.

They will find out in eight weeks’ time if they have won the ultimate prize of taking the title in each category, when the recipients are announced before crowds of mortgage personnel at the prestigious venue in Scotland’s capital. All eyes will be focused on the main stage as the winners of 26 fiercely contested awards are named- it’s truly one of the biggest nights in the Scottish mortgage calendar.

The wide variety of categories include Best Overall Broker in Scotland, regional Brokers of the Year, Building Society of the Year, Business Leader of the Year (Lender), Excellence in Philanthropy & Community Service, GI Provider of the Year, and Later Life Lender of the Year. We will also find out who is the Protection Provider of the Year, Surveyor of the Year, and Specialist Lender, as well as the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award.

Gregor McMeechan (pictured left), managing director of Malleny Mortgage Solutions, is thrilled and proud that his business has once again been shortlisted for The Lendinvest Award for Broker of the Year (Regional – Edinburgh), as well The Mortgage Lender Award for Specialist Broker of the Year – a nomination that, he believes, reflects its dedication to serving the Scottish community. “Being recognised in this way means so much to us,” McMeechan said. “It’s a true testament to the care, commitment, and hard work we put into helping every client achieve the best possible outcome. To be acknowledged alongside so many outstanding professionals across the industry is both humbling and inspiring – and it drives us to continue pushing standards even higher.”

The importance of The Scottish Mortgage Awards 2025

McMeechan added: “Awards like these are incredibly valuable in highlighting the exceptional work happening across the Scottish mortgage market. They showcase everything from innovation and outstanding customer service to professionalism and perseverance, truly celebrating the best our industry has to offer. This kind of recognition not only motivates those within the profession but also strengthens trust and confidence among clients who turn to us during the most significant financial moments in their lives.”

Sponsored by Mortgage Introducer and its publisher KM Business Information, the awards will be presented at a glittering gala event. It really is a spectacular evening in which scores of industry professionals mark the triumphs of another successful year of business. A fabulous celebration, as well as a superb networking opportunity, guests will enjoy an arrival cocktail party, plus a sumptuous sit-down dinner and the hugely inspiring awards ceremony, which never fails to delight and thrill the many people present.

Broker Amanda Law (pictured centre) is looking forward to the evening, having been named as a finalist in The Scottish Building Society Award for New Brokerage of the Year. “I am honoured to be shortlisted for this award,” Law said. “Although I have been in the industry for over 16 years, I only set up my own business in 2024, so to receive this recognition so early on in my journey is a real boost to my business and a reflection of the hard work over the last year.  It is fantastic to be highlighted in this category within the Scottish industry.” She added: “I think these awards are very important. They provide a platform to new and established businesses, as well as individuals, to showcase the excellence we have across the industry in Scotland. There are so many outstanding brokers, BDMs and business leaders across Scotland, and to bring them together and celebrate success can only be a positive for the Scottish industry as a whole.”

Meanwhile, Alistair Ewing (pictured right), managing director at The Lending Channel is thrilled that his firm has been shortlisted for The Mortgage Lender Award for Specialist Broker of the Year. “Once again, I am delighted that my team has been recognised in this way,” Ewing said. “It is testament to how hard they all work in what is often a challenging lending environment. The Scottish mortgage market can often be forgotten when it comes to awards events like this, as most of them still take place in London. So, this is a great opportunity for Scottish brokers in particular to showcase their talent.”
