He has decades of experience in law and financial services
Sort Group, which consists of brands SortRefer, Sort Move, and Sort Legal, has announced the appointment of Keith Ahmed (pictured) as group managing director.
Ahmed, who has 15 years of experience in law and 10 in financial services, has been with the group as head of finance and compliance officer for the past five years.
In his new role, he will take ownership of the day-to-day running of the group and will be responsible for the companies’ key deliverables.
Since the launch of broker online portal SortRefer in 2015, the group said it had grown rapidly, launching CLC law firm Sort Legal in 2017 and estate agent portal Sort Move in 2020. It added that it had ambitious growth plans and software development goals over the next three years.
With the proptech, fintech, and legal tech space moving at a rapid pace, the group stressed that it was keen to ensure that growth was managed and within its corporate strategy.
“This is a hugely exciting time to be in the industry, which is already seeing so many changes brought about by technology,” Ahmed said. “I firmly believe that with our vision of tech growth, employee engagement, and a client centric experience, we can make Sort a market leader in the sector.”
Kevin Tunnicliffe, chief executive at SortRefer, stated that the appointment of Ahmed as group managing director was made to help the group achieve its growth plans.
“Although different, our roles will complement each other, allowing me to be more industry facing in the marketplace,” Tunnicliffe explained. “Keith has already done so much for the business since he joined in 2018, and I am excited for us to work together to further expand our market share.”
