The hire comes as UTB restructures its bridging underwriting function
Specialist lender United Trust Bank (UTB) has announced the appointment of Paula Purdy (pictured) as head of sales for bridging finance.
Purdy, who has nearly 20 years of experience in specialist finance sales, worked with lenders, including Shawbrook Bank, Octopus Property and, most recently, Together Money, where she was head of intermediary sales for the North.
UTB said Purdy was a well-known figure in specialist finance, and had extensive knowledge of bridging, residential and commercial real estate finance, and buy-to-let.
The senior management appointment comes as UTB restructures its bridging underwriting function into two dedicated teams, one managing regulated bridging applications and one managing unregulated bridging applications.
Purdy will be responsible for managing UTB’s team of business development and key account managers and will work closely with director of bridging, Sundeep Patel, newly appointed head of regulated bridging underwriting, Becky Kidby, and the soon to be announced head of unregulated bridging underwriting.
“Paula has a fantastic track record of success in bridging and specialist finance sales, and she is a well-known and much respected industry professional,” Patel stated in an article announcing the appointment. “She is joining UTB at a very exciting time with the restructure of the bridging division into regulated and unregulated underwriting and case management functions set to transform the service we provide to brokers and customers and at the same time increase our capability to complete even more business.
“Paula is going to play a key role in ensuring UTB exceeds the expectations of brokers as the Bridging division continues to evolve and grow and the whole team strives to make UTB the #homeofbridging.”
Commenting on her appointment, Purdy, said she was delighted to join UTB’s bridging finance team and to once again work under the leadership of Patel.
“UTB are well respected in the bridging market, and I am proud to be able to play my part in their future growth plans,” she added.
