Industry veteran joins Target Group

Target Group, a specialist in business process servicing and digital transformation, has announced the appointment of Melanie Spencer (pictured) as its new growth and sales lead.

Spencer, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in the mortgage market, will focus on enhancing Target’s sales strategies and business development, particularly promoting Mortgage Hub.

Her background includes senior roles at Personal Touch, Twenty7Tech, finova, and OMS. Her expertise is expected to boost Target’s visibility and reputation within the lender community.

Target Group provides services including mortgage servicing, originations, and third-party administration. It also handles direct debit mandates for major clients such as the DVLA and Television Licensing, and addresses car finance remediation.

Target is behind Mortgage Hub, an originations system designed to streamline the mortgage process for both lenders and brokers by providing a unified view of each case. It ensures that both lenders and brokers are always informed about the status of their transactions, resulting in what it described as considerable time and cost savings.

“We spent over two years developing our new state-of-the-art mortgage system,” said Peter O’Connor, chief executive of Target Group. “Since then, we have been making sure that we have the right team in place to really make a difference, both to lenders and everyone we work with.

“Melanie’s appointment is a fundamental one in helping to show the world the next evolution of the mortgage journey assisted by Target. Melanie is both well-known and well respected in the mortgage industry, and I know that she will make a real difference, helping Target to grow while also helping all those who partner with us.”

Commenting on her appointment, Spencer said what persuaded her to join Target was its clear vision and a broad array of solutions and resources to enhance the way lenders operate.

“Opportunities like this are rare,” she added. “And I am eager to demonstrate the profound impact Target and the Mortgage Hub can make.”
