She will support the build of semi-automated solutions to the various enquiries that cause delay and stress to conveyancers
Legal tech provider Collaborative Conveyancing has announced the appointment of Marion Palmann (pictured) as strategic and conveyancing advisor.
As one of the early solicitors to convert to becoming a licensed conveyancer in 1995, Palmann brings with her a huge wealth of knowledge and experience of the conveyancing market. She has contributed to the sector by serving on the Council for Licensed Conveyancers Board for 13 years, sat on Land Registry and other committees, and co-founded conveyancing provider Pirie Palmann, which was sold to Simply Conveyancing in September 2021.
In her new role, Palmann will support the build of semi-automated solutions to the various enquiries that cause delay and stress to conveyancers, many of which are purely administrative in nature.
“When I heard that Marion was interested in joining our business, I was delighted that someone that is so highly regarded and experienced, would be interested in supporting us,” Chris Harris, co-founder of Collaborative Conveyancing, said.
“We are honoured that Marion has chosen to work with us, and as with her previous roles she has already got stuck in, adding her detailed, well-considered, and balanced conveyancing experience to train our natural language processing model and helping us define how we can best help conveyancers of all sizes and types.”
“I am all for making conveyancers’ lives better and wholeheartedly believe that handling enquiries is one of the most painful tasks we have to engage in,” Palmann said. “It can also be a stumbling block for trainees who aspire to become fully-fledged conveyancers.
“Hearing Chris’s enthusiasm and desire to solve this long-standing problem made me want to get involved and make a difference.”
The tech startup reported last week that it had won a substantial Innovate UK grant and completed a fund-raising round to enable it to further develop its work to help conveyancers reduce the pressures of conveyancing enquiries through the use of AI.
