Guardian Homecare provides personal care and support in their own homes to frail and disabled older people, adults and children with learning and/or physical disabilities, adults and children with acquired brain injuries, and adults with mental health problems.
It employs around 400 people operating from its five offices in Kent, Surrey, Essex, Northern Ireland and Lancashire.
Managing director of Bupa Home Healthcare, Steve Flanagan, said: "Guardian Homecare has a committed and well-trained team that provides quality care to vulnerable people, particularly the elderly and those with learning disabilities, in their own homes. However, this service alone is not a core part of our business and we believe it would have a greater opportunity to develop as part of a more specialist domiciliary care group.
“Bupa Home Healthcare will continue to focus on the delivery of complex and continuing care, led by its nursing teams, to NHS and private patients in their own homes.
"We are determined to work closely with the new owners to ensure a smooth handover for the Guardian team and the people they care for."
