Waters said the decision coincided with the end of his initial annual subscription.
He said: “My own business is very busy at the moment and as such I feel I need to concentrate on that at the moment.
“However I wish everyone still involved with the AOBP every success for the future.”
Sidney Cohen, AOBP chairman, confirmed Waters resigned from the executive committee last month and added: “Nothing was said and there was no explanation at all. On that basis I’m afraid I have no comment to make.”
Lucy Barrett, director of Vantage Finance and another AOBP executive committee member, said: “All of the AOBP executive committee members have the challenge of juggling their contribution to the association with the running of their own business. It is completely understandable that each member’s own business will come first and foremost.”
And she added: “Danny was a valued member of the committee and I think I speak for everyone when wishing him continued success in his business.”
Craig Scott of Commercial 1, Jonathan Newman of Brightstone Law, Ray Cohen of Jackson Cohen, James Rainbird of Pink Pig Loans, Alun Winter of Intelligent Loans, Dr Khadr of Khadr Commercial Finance and Yousouf Roze of First 4 Bridging are the remaining members on the AOBP board.
The AOBP was set up in October last year to “be a central representative body to put the views of bridging professionals to the Financial Services Authority, Office of Fair Trading, Treasury and any other relevant government body or organisation which impacts on the operation of the bridging industry”.
