Satchell, who will report directly to CEO Myles Williams, has over 25 years experience in financial services and has worked across a spectrum of sectors, from mortgages and secured loans to commercial and short-term residential funding.
He has held senior positions at a number of well-known specialist lenders, including Money Partners - where he was head of national accounts - and, most recently, as divisional sales manager for the Blemain Group of companies.
Williams said: "Bridging has enjoyed remarkable success over the past few years.
“While I believe this is set to continue, I'm conscious of an increasingly competitive landscape set against the challenges of an uncertain general election outcome, tighter regulation, a fragile domestic economic recovery and the impact of overseas events.
"To ensure F4B maintains its strong progress and hard-won reputation, it is essential we have in our team the very best the market can offer.
“That's why we've recruited Lorenzo, an industry figure with credibility and a track record that speaks for itself. The task I'm setting him is an uncompromisingly tough one, but I've complete confidence in his ability to deliver."
Satchell added: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining Myles and his team. Having worked closely with them over the past four years I know that F4B are a high calibre, professional outfit and this exciting opportunity is one I will relish - I can't wait to get started."
Colin Sanders, chief executive of Omni Capital which is a key partner of F4B, praised the appointment.
He said: "A good number of us in the Omni team have known Lorenzo for many years - as a colleague, a competitor and simply as a friend.
“He is a true professional who understands his craft and who practices it with skill, good humour and integrity.
“His appointment is a testament both to his personal qualities and to Myles Williams' vision and ambition. We congratulate both, and look forward to a continuing, mutually-successful co-operation."
