Speaking at the Association of Short Term Lenders Rob Jupp, chief executive of Brightstar, said that lenders ranked service as the most important attribute while distributors ranked certainty of decision highest.
The survey asked 10 lenders and 10 distributors to rate attributes of a short-term lender in order of what was important to them.
The lenders ranked service highest followed by speed, relationship, rate and product, certainty of decision and proc fee.
Distributors put certainty of decision highest followed by rate and product, proc fee, service, relationships and speed.
Jupp said: “This was a small survey so take from it what you will. But I think it raises an interesting point that lenders and distributors have different priorities and both parties should be talking to each other to achieve the best possible outcomes.”
